Welcome to my Damsel Reads, where I share my thoughts about the latest books that I have read. All opinions were my own and based from what I have personally understood from the story.I have been planning this chitchat kind of thing in my blog for a while and I wasn't able to make it happen until now. Let's just envision ourselves chatting like friends about books and movies that have touched our lives. You can also comment down any books that you think were fabulous and also your reactions to the book. I hope you enjoy reading. Let us carry on the positive vibe sister!

As always, my book reviews have spoilers but not enough to kill the joy out of reading.
Let us start.

I started reading this book last June 12 this year. I must admit, I immediately got hooked on the story. I did not do anything for two days ( not literally) but read this book until It's done. I couldn't put it down for some reason. There was something very enthralling and magical in the chain of events of the story. Although she was already famous for her Throne of Glass series, this was my first time to read a book from Sarah J. Maas. She has impressed me ( She's one of my fave author now ) and her manner of writing was exquisite. It was a well written story with unexpected ending.

First let me just say something about the front cover of the book. The cover on first sight was really captivating with red background and those thorns. You can immediately presume that the book has something unique to offer. In my own opinion, the cover of the book can influence it's reader's buying power. The more drama the cover, the more curious I would be. And Bam! Before I knew it II'll have a new book in my hands.Well, that is just me.

The book was well-written. It has a unique beginning and the characters evolve as the story progresses. I am not going to spill all the details because I strongly suggest you get the book yourself. The story was about a young girl named Feyre (pronounces as FAyrah). The setting of the story initially was in a snowy forest where Feyre was hunting to feed her hungry family. She has her father and two sister. They were once rich but due to some circumstances, they were stricken with poverty as narrated in the beginning. Her character was portrayed to be strong and will do anything for her family. The world she lives in has myths and stories about creatures called "Fae" or "faeries". Basically, Faes were described to be strong with extra abilities in comparison to humans. Both kinds were separated by a wall. The exciting part was, no human has been back alive after they cross the said wall. And nobody knows how to cross it either. The Faes however given their talents and abilities can cross it,but because of the covenant that both humans and faes shared some years ago, they were prohibited to cross as well.

When Feyre killed the wolf which was a fae in disguise. A scary creature barged into their tiny cabin claiming blood money for the killed Fae. Feyre, as I said was a strong character, owned up to her doing and prepared herself for any punishment. Because of her character, the creature offered her two propositions: her death or her freedom. The fae offered her to come with him and live the rest of her life in his fae world. If you were in her shoes, what will you choose?

I am not going to tell you her choice because it is up for you to  decide whether to purchase the book or not. But I strongly recommend this book. I give this 4 1/2 stars rating! There are a lot of twists and unexpected happenings that I myself kept praying that it will not leave a hanging feeling on it's readers ( I'm that serious!). Well, true enough, the story was wrapped up in the end in such a way that your questions will be answered. It does offers some animosity about Fae world and the human world which I think is normal for every book. You can definitely anticipate for more action on the next book( I can't wait!) . But between the heroine and the hero, Let us just say maybe they lived happily ever after.

I do hope that you enjoyed reading the review. If you happen to read the book or purchased it, please let me know on my social avenues linked below. As always, I love you and Happy reading!
