Why do men lie?

I had a double shift yesterday. That would mean as early as 4am in the morning I have to go to work,be out at 1pm and go back to work 11:45pm same date and be out at 9 am the next day. I have no actual sleep and by the time I was out at the office, I was really HUNGRY. God knows how much damage a person can do when she is hungry.I texted him to pick me up. I was so happy he replied that he’s almost there. 30 minutes later, He arrived. I was so wet from the rain that poured while waiting for him, plus my hungry stomach starting to kill me. I was so disappointed and felt betrayed. He said he’s almost there but took so long to pick me up. I know the drive was only 15 minute plus traffic. Then why did he say he’s almost there. Why do men lie?

I have collected three reasons from my office mates who belonged to the ADAM community and they say that " men lie because..."

1. They don’t want ladies to ask many questions.

To make the long story short, they lie to cut the conversations. Make sense? They like you to understand upfront and shut up. Girls as normal as I am would really ask questions. That is just normal in our hormones to ask and clarify things. But men don’t want like that.

2. They want something.

I had heard a saying before, while boys are visual, girls are more into hearing. Meaning that if you want to get something from a girl you better be good in words. They give you what you wanted to hear to approve their request. But little did they know that we’re more into honest words.

3. They don’t want to hurt us.

Truth can hurt at times and some men don’t really want to hurt the feelings of a girl by telling them the truth. If they smell complication, they would really say’ Im outta here”. The truth is, you will hurt us more with lying.

Here’s the catch, no matter what the sex is, we all lie. We have simple lies, white lies and complicated lies. No matter how little a lie is, it’s still a lie. We lie because we have our own reasons. We say it because we think that the truth is more painful than telling a lie. But as one Facebook status states “ Truth hurts but it will set you free”.

Chicfit: 10 tips to Lose pounds

Hello guys!..It's another segment of my Chicfit blog series that I created last month.Hope you like it.

Picture a friend talking to you if you could be her maid of honor on her wedding day next month. You’re ecstatic, but deep inside you scream, “Oh No!” Are you ready to rock a sparkly outfit or costume? Are you comfortable enough with your body? If your answer is a mix of yes and no. Now might be the right time to shed those love handles and prepare a rocking body for the next month.

Losing 10 pounds is a helpful way to prepare you for the wonderful months of celebration. Instead of hiding and waiting for that dreadful day, try these 10 easy steps on how to lose 10 pounds within a month or two.

1. Let me introduce you to the two Ds.

Discipline and Determination. This might be simple and often missed out but it is a necessity to stay committed. Have the Discipline to push you to exercise and to say NO to unhealthy food. Determination is an additive in staying with your goal. Remember that you have a time-frame here.

2. Walk the talk.

Start literally by walking. Nothing will hurt if you try. If It’s your first time, then walking is very suitable for you. Do this for duration of a week and you may pace yourself to brisk walking, until you've trained yourself to jog. The longer and consistent you are, the more you’ll notice a drive within you. Always remember to consult your doctor first prior to any activity plan.

3. Attend a dance or a work-out class.

If you’re not much of a J.Lo dancing type, you can enroll for a gym class. You get to meet a lot of people who will motivate you. You can also purchase or search in the web about instructional exercise program which you can do indoors. There are tons.

4. Drink lots of water.

Revitalize yourself with water prior to any work-out or exercise. Sometimes being dehydrated urges us to eat more. When in fact in the first place we are just thirsty.

5. Create a healthy nutrition diet.

Instead of starving yourself. Tell it to eat healthy by managing what you eat. Replace unhealthy ones like junk foods and too many sweets with fruit and nuts. Watching what you eat is a key as well.If you’re hungry eat, never starve yourself. In this way you’re more prone to binging.

6. Enjoy what you eat.

Let’s just say that the healthier you eat the more you are happy with yourself. Admit it that you feel unhappy and guilty when you’re eating those unhealthy foods. Parts of this tip are eating slowly and savor the flavor of what you eat. The longer the time you spend on a piece, the lesser your consumption is.

7. Make your weighing scale your friend and not a nightmare.

Try to keep track of your weight once a week. Let’s get that weighing scale moving to a more positive you. From this, you’ll be knowledgeable if you’re losing rather than gaining. If you’re gaining, there might be something wrong with what you eat and what your activities are. Look back and work on it.

8. Decrease salt intake.

Excess salt in the body results into water retention. This water retention makes you appear heavy and bloated. Feeling puffy is the last thing that you would want when going through an exercise. A beauty queen which is a friend of mine can vouch for this.

9. Be friendly.

Reconnect with friends whose in the same path as you. Brisk walking in the park while sharing stories with a friend will increase your determination and track too. Having someone to support you in your undertaking is a great way to shake off those pounds.

10. Time is precious.

Last tip is finding a time to do all these things. The only person that can prohibit you from losing 10 pounds within a month is yourself. Remember the first 2Ds.

Losing 10 pounds within one month is indeed hard. But with your dedication, I don’t see any reason why you can’t. The key is to take things slowly with consistency. Avoid weight loss that tortures you and promise to make you lose pounds rapidly. These programs might not be safe and unhealthy. Be happy with what you do. And always remember there is a thing called losing weight gracefully. Have fun while bidding goodbyes to those extra pounds.

Make-up nuggets: The real "falsies".

It's funny how mascaras emerge as a basic necessity in the world of cosmetics. The fact is that, for a tube of mascara, you only have to keep it for 3-6 months in your vanity. It becomes a good source of bacteria after that. But from a point of a woman, nothing beats the feel of a magic mascara wand. A newly bought one, when applied, feels so refreshing. It opens your eyes to the world like petals.Make your eyes extra special. For some who was blessed with great lashes, AMEN to that. But to those ladies with lashes that face right down. You bet it's a necessity.

Your Mascara is like one of your friends. They pretend they can stick around all the time but the truth is, they will not. It promises to lengthen your lashes, make it curlier than ever and waterproofs everything. But later when problem arises.It clumps, ruins your make-up and end up falling apart. Its like friendship.

You can choose a lot of friends but you'll never know who stays with you in the long run. Some may be good at the first meeting,later to realize that they are not the real person you have met.It's much better to have a few ones that you get to keep and that could be there for you all the time. The golden question is where can you find genuine ones?.Apparently, I don't know too.

They say that to harbor good friends, you must also be a good friend. Be someone who can make herself available in times of need. Be someone who is there to give advice and love. To be able to find one, just be one.And all will just come.

A genuine person is a deep person. It loves to be involve with you and be there for you for real. A real mascara will stand up for you and will never let you down. Don't you just love one?..Just stay away from the "falsies" friends. The falsies mascara from Maybelline might be of another story. (I love it!)
